Happy Macro Friday!

Cheers!
Yea for Friday's and double YEA for it being a "family day" for me and my fam..my husband has the day off!  Too bad our family day consists of doing laundry and painting the hallway..but at least we will be together while we do it!

I've been collecting corks forever and have been trying to come up with clever ways to use them.  I've tried making coasters out of them (eeh) and I made a wreath out of them..but so far the best use I have found for them is just to take their picture..

Very simple edit: In CS5, I adjusted the tones, color and contrast to my liking  and added 2 free textures (vintage grunge & wood)  that I found HERE  and HERE , with "overlay" as the blending mode in both texture layers (adjusting the opacity a little..) , I also went back to the original layer and "erased" the textures from the tops of the 2 corks standing up, then I brought the photograph into Picnik where I added the text and border.

Have a Happy Friday, Ya'll!

Corks make me think of wine & I am a wine-o. Love this shot!! It makes me want some even though it's not even 10am here yet. It's 5 o'clock somewhere right? hehe.

Love the texture!!! Have a great weekend! xo

I love this, and such a great idea to erase the texture in some parts of the photo. It looks great!

Thanks for sharing the links to the free textures. I have never used a texture but want to give it a try. Thanks also for linking up to the View from Here.
