Photo Story Friday

Awww..melts my freakin' heart.

I remember the first time she was able to grab onto my finger with her teeny tiny hand..how much power it felt like she had.  Like she knew exactly who I was and what she was doing the moment she grabbed on.

Seraphina wasn't supposed to make it-so the doctors said.  She had to spend 12 terrifying days in the NICU.  When they whisked her away from me immediately after giving birth, I had no idea what was going on..I guess I kind of assumed it was routine.  I was exhausted and confused.  The next thing I knew, they were explaining to me that she might not make it through the night.

Well, she certainly proved everyone wrong. But not me..I knew she would make it.  I knew she was a fighter.  And when she grabbed my finger for the first time and I felt her strength and warmth..that just reassured me even more.

The meaning of the name Seraphina is "fiery one" and the Seraphim is the highest ranking angels of God..very appropriate for my little feisty angel on Earth.

P.S. One of my recent blog posts is featured on Bigger Picture Blog today.  If you've never checked this Blog out, you should..it's full of beautiful words, pictures and people.

It was meant to be that Seraphina lives and thrives because she has lots to teach us.
