I've seen red leaves, yellow leaves and orange leaves this season..but this is the first time I have ever seen a black leaf. I just thought it seemed so..strange..and out of place, even amidst all the color that has dissapeared into crunchy brown.
This is my SOOC shot:
To get my finished image, I first auto-adjusted the color/contrast/levels in Photoshop. I layered 5 textures onto my image (a mix of "vintage grunge" and "old paper"..all of which I found here), changing each layers "blending mode" to overlay and randomly adjusting the opacity 'til I liked it. I then bumped up the contrast of the original image layer a little. And then-voila-I went from a pic that was ok to an image that I really like.
